W.H. Bartlett - (1809-1854) William
Henry Bartlett traveled the world creating illustrated views of remarkable landscapes. His
Canadian scenes are considered some of his finest.
Steel engraving is a print produced by carving the lines of an image into a metal plate
with a burin tool. The plate was then inked and moistened paper was pressed on the plate
to create the image. This process was used between 1825-1845.

Postcard - Glamorous Couple Smoking - ep051008 Glamorous 1920's couple - man lighting their
cigarettes. On the front is says: Wenn die Liebo brennt.(If the love burns). A line
divider is on the middle of back of the postcard. Great graphic and colors. No writing,
never used. Back of card - right bottom corner reads: WSS 6522/1. Condition is very
good to excellent.
